Picnic at the Botanical Garden and a Linky

I'm continuing my series on the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden, South Africa. Last weekend we had a picnic there with Thanksgiving leftovers in the form of turkey sandwiches. Our 2 adult kids weren't with us, so it was just the 4 of us. I got some action shots too.

I included 2 pics of our Thanksgiving dinner at home. My mom brought the Thanksgiving decorations over from the States last Christmas. Samantha and Amanda pointed out that it felt like a birthday party with the paper tablecloth and paper plates, etc. We have found that it's difficult to invite people over since kids are writing final exams and parents are working. Maybe next year I'll try to invite a retired couple over.

Many of you enjoyed the small tortoise in last week's post, Botanical Garden and Tortoise. Today I have a couple of photos of one of the larger ones walking around the gardens. I also spotted a Cape Mongoose and got a few shots before it scurried away.

Botanical Garden and Tortoise with a Linky

A couple of weeks ago, I began a new series. The first post was called Botanical Garden and Home. We live in South Africa where the seasons are opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere. At the beginning of our spring, the flowers were all in bloom, but with summer nearing, most of the vibrant colors are already gone. I'm glad I got to take pics when I did! Enjoy!

Indie Fantasy Addicts Holiday Reading Challenge

Indie Fantasy Addicts
Holiday Reading Challenge
November 19 – January 1

Indie Fantasy Addicts is a Facebook group of over 800 members. I participated in their summer reading challenge and had a blast. Anyone is welcome to join and the prizes are fabulous. The best part is that everyone who participates receives free eBooks!

Tell Me More!

Because you guys just rocked the last one with 800 books, we’re going to do this again—only a little differently. It’s a mini holiday challenge that will last from Nov. 19 - Jan. 1. Just like before, the purpose of this is just to have fun and discover more amazing indie fantasy authors! There is no set reading list. Audiobooks also apply. And ARCs. Read whatever you want as long as it’s indie fantasy.

All you have to do is create posts about what you're reading, tell us your thoughts on the book (without spoilers!) and link to your review so the rest of us can discover more amazing adventures! The review can be on your favorite retailer, whether it’s Amazon, Goodreads, Bookbub... whatever! Tag it with #IFAHolidayChallenge so we can find it later! And if we can number them this time that would be greatly appreciated since counting hundreds of entries at the end starts to cross the eyes!!

⭐ BONUS: Because it’s #NovemBARR, all of Brandon Barr’s books read and reviewed during this challenge will count as TWO!! (And this also includes any of his books read and reviewed since the beginning of Nov when he launched Rise of the Seer) #IFAHolidayChallengeBonus

🏆 As before, we’ll do a tiered winning system since not all readers read at the same rate. Draws will be done to choose winners from the lower tiers.

Let the adventures begin at Indie Fantasy Addicts on Facebook!

Match Me by Christmas and Never Say Match with a Linky

Match Me by Christmas
By Lindzee Armstrong

Match Me by Christmas (No Match for Love Book 8) by [Armstrong, Lindzee]

My Review:

This is a wonderful sweet romance that is perfect for the holidays or any time of the year! Lindzee Armstrong delivers compelling characters and situations.

Natalie is on an 8 day cruise to write an article about the matchmaking singles tour. She's a skeptic that people can fall in love in such a short amount of time. She crashes into Shawn who turns out to be the coordinator of the event on board and who has been working for the cruise ship for the past 10 years. She's almost fresh out of college and he's about 10 years her senior. She's young and energetic with a whole life ahead of her and he's mildly disabled with a desire to finally put down roots. Natalie and Shawn have great chemistry, but is the attraction for real or worth fighting for?

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Never Say Match
By Lindzee Armstrong

Never Say Match (No Match for Love Book 9) by [Armstrong, Lindzee]

My Review:

Cassidy Erickson was jilted in the worst possible way by her actor fiancé, so when a famous co-star named Jase Larson arrives on her parents' farm, she's livid. She still lives with her parents, so avoiding him will be impossible. The story unfolds in a natural way with great characters and fun dialogue. If you like horses, cowboys, cakes, and movie stars, then you'll enjoy this full-length romance novel by author Lindzee Armstrong! Each story in the No Match for Love series is a stand-alone, but this one follows after Match Me by Christmas.

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
