FotoJet Review with Weekend Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #215!

This blog is best viewed in Google Chrome.
Click on the images to see them at their best.

If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I like taking pictures. When it comes to online photo editing, I always look for the free options. Recently I heard about FotoJet and thought to see what it has to offer.

FotoJet is an all-in-one free online tool for graphic design, photo collage, and photo editing. It has an easy Home Page lay-out. The options available are clearly displayed. Make sure to scroll down the page to see them all. I tried the free version with plenty of editing tools and graphic designs to choose from. There is also a paid version called FotoJet Plus that gives you more options with no ads.

FotoJet makes photo editing easy and enjoyable. I found the overlays to be fun, the clip art whimsical, and the text options cool. I used FotoJet for my blog post header above. I went with the Thank You Card template under Graphic Design. I chose a blue background and added floral clip art with text. I also tried FotoJet for my latest book review post. I used two of the Featured Effects under Edit Photo and I'm sharing my before and after pics below.

Disclosure: I will receive a 30 day free trial of FotoJet Plus for my honest review. All opinions are my own. This offer can be found on the FotoJet website and is available to anyone who wants to post a review.

Orchid - original photo by Tina Morley

Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy 40th Birthday and to those who shared my birthday post on Google+ and/or Twitter! I really appreciate it. For those who were looking out for my weekend blog hop, I'm sorry that it never went live. I first forgot about it and when I did remember, it crossed my mind that I was still behind in visiting the linked posts of everyone who had left comments over the past week and decided that I didn't want to get further behind. I've been working on a great post for Friday with a recipe and I hope you pop in and link up then!

Orchid with HDR affect

The orchid and the flowers were gifts for my birthday. The gecko was on my bathroom wall. All photos were taken in the past week and I had fun with them. Enjoy!

Free Photo Edits and #Weekend #Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #108!

My blog is best viewed in Google Chrome

As a blogger and avid photographer, I spend a lot of time selecting and editing photos before uploading them to my blogs. There are several free resources that I use:

Sometimes I come across a photo that didn't capture well, but with the right photo edits, I can make a blah photo pop. This picture of Big Brother with Little Sister walking into the mall is one of them. I took it using my hubby's mobile phone. Here I used Picasa 3 to improve the original:

Inspirational Quotes on Joyful Poetry

Today I have 3 more images with inspirational quotes written by me. The photos were also taken by me earlier this year of flowers from my garden. If you enjoy my photography, then you might like to follow my hobby blog 1camera1mom. Many of my posts explain how to edit your photos for free. Below each of today's image, I've added a link to the original poem where this quote was inspired from. I also have a "Pin It" button on my right-hand side bar. I would be thrilled for you to pin any of these to your Pinterest board. If you enjoy my poetry, then please consider following my blog Consider the Lilies where I post a new poem about once a week.

This quote was inspired by my poem "Gardens of Joy."

This quote was inspired by my poem "Alpha and Omega."

This quote was inspired by my poem "Starry Sky."

Wordless Wednesday - 5

The previous post was about my bedroom make-over. Since the pictures weren't that great, I took some more to share with you today. The painting was made by Amanda at preschool in 2010. Her hand print she made this year, 2012. I hope you like my collage. I did it for free using PicMonkey. You can learn how to make a collage on my photography blog 1camera1mom. While you're there, have a look around for more photo editing tips.

Knots in My Hair!

Amanda is playing that the dolphins are diving
in the water at South Africa's West Coast.
The kids say the funniest things and I don’t always write it down. Sometimes, I say to myself that I’ll write it down later, but then I forget. I usually just let life happen, but I’ve found that writing it down allows me the time to enjoy the moment again and again.

The other day, I came across a little note of mine that had been buried under other papers near the computer. It was a funny moment that I had had with Amanda some months back and I had completely forgotten about it. Thank goodness that I had written it down on paper and not lost it! I’ve included a short introduction to help set the scene.

Every morning, I brush Amanda’s hair and tie it up out of her face. She has lots of curls that are sometimes hard to brush. Often, she complains that I’m hurting her. I try hard not to and I apologize when it pulls. If I don’t apologize, she gets upset with me.

On this particular morning she said the funniest thing. “You’re putting knots in my hair!”

“No, I’m not. I’m brushing the knots out,” I replied.

“You are putting knots in my hair. I feel it!”

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. I thought to include a bit about how I edited these two photos. I edited both using PicMonkey, but I first straightened the one where Amanda is sitting with Picasa 3. I’ve included some links on these topics.
