3 Christian Love Stories and a Linky

I have 3 more love stories this weekend to share with you and hopefully put you in the mood for Valentine's Day. I'm a sucker for love stories, so I don't need a special day to give me reason to read one.

See Me, Cover Me

My Review:

See Me, Cover Me is a feel-good Christian suspense novel. It has plenty of touchy-feely moments and some action to keep it interesting. It's also inspirational and teaches about veterans with disabilities. This might be a slow book for some, but I enjoyed it. The title is a bit misleading, though. I would have thought that with the words, "See Me, Cover Me" the girl would need protecting, but she doesn't. She does, however, fall in love with an undercover FBI agent. The best part is that you don't have to read the other books in the series, even though they are intertwined, as each book has its own complete story.

Finding Peace

My Review:

Finding Peace is a cozy mystery about a struggling photographer who is a victim of a crime and a police officer who takes the case. One of my favorite parts in the story was how Laurie, the photographer, instinctively knew how to sensitively take photos of children with autism. Another favorite part was the solving of the intriguing crimes.

Matchmaker

My Review:

Matchmaker is a sweet love story about a quirky female unlucky in love and the very handsome guy who notices her and can't get her off his mind. The message in the story is to be happy being yourself and not to judge others who are different.

My Review:

Seekers is the second book in the Mud, Rocks, and Trees fantasy adventure series by author R.A. Denny. Follow Amanki, Moshoi, and Brina on their adventures as they are each tasked with bringing an important seal to the city of Tzoladia. They and their companions face dangers from all sides. The ending is kind of abrupt and leaves me wanting to find out what happens next. 

It's a unique series with plenty of suspense and action scenes. Denny does a fantastic job of world building and creating interesting characters. Unfortunately, it's not appropriate for younger readers, because of the violence and some of it of a sexual nature. I would suggest ages 16 and up.

R.A. Denny started writing epic fantasy novels when, after watching the first Hobbit movie, she began excitedly spouting off information about C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien’s writer’s group called the Inklings and how their greatest fantasy novels were created. One of her sons commented, “We could do that.” She laughed. Then, he turned it into a challenge.

Her unexpected journey had begun. For several years, she continued her day job as a criminal prosecutor and escaped by night to the world of the Tzoladian Empire. Then, she decided to just do what she loved.

3 Love Stories and a Linky

It's almost Valentine's Day and I've got 3 fun love stories to share with you today! These are all relatively clean romances that are between young adult and new adult appropriate with plenty of feel-good moments. Click on the titles in blue to learn more.

Pippa of Lauramore

My Review:

Pippa of Lauramore is a fantasy romance with great characters and plenty of action and adventure. It's about a princess named Pippa who is hoping someone other than the man her father has chosen will win her hand in marriage at the tournaments. She interferes right from the beginning hoping to guarantee that the man she chooses will win. Things don't always go as planned and her man isn't up to speed. Unfortunately, the man that she really cares about isn't worthy enough in her father's eyes to compete for her hand. The worst part is that her father's original choice for her might just win after all!

Elissa Blue

My Review:

Elissa Blue is a love story through and through. If you're looking for plenty of giggles and sigh worthy moments, then you'll enjoy this book! Surprisingly, this is supposed to be a dystopian/science-fiction novel, but only mildly so. A genetically modified human race exists with new abilities, but also limitations. This was explained to some extent, but other things like why prayer was banned were not. The story focuses on relationships and avoiding the pitfalls of sexual desire. Euphemisms are not used, which can be shocking for some readers. Otherwise, it's a relatively clean romance and appropriate for mature teenagers and new adults.

Captive Rebel



My Review:

Captive Rebel is a fast paced adventure romance novella. I enjoyed the chemistry between captive and captor. I liked how the good guys and bad guys were on both sides of the conflict. It reminds me of a medieval story, but the setting is supposed to be dystopian. There are little nods to the world that once was, but these didn't fit well and felt contrived. I think it should have been set in an alternate universe instead. Overall, it was fun to read.

My Review:

Dragon School: The Ruby Isles is the fourth book in this fun and fast paced young adult series. Amel is being threatened from different sides, but she doesn't let threats or the consequences of leaving Dragon School without permission stop her from doing what she believes is right. With Raolcan's full support, the two of them set out on a quest to save Savette. Their destination is the Ruby Isles. Amel discovers that she has friends who want to help. Will their bravery be enough? Be warned, it has a cliffhanger ending! I highly recommend this wonderful new series for all ages!
