Christmas Symbols and a Linky

My mom and step-dad are visiting from the States! We haven't seen each other since 2013. They'll stay through Christmas and fly back before the New Year. This will be my last post and linky party for 2017. I wish everyone a blessed holiday and New Year 2018!

Like an evergreen tree, God never changes.

Candy canes remind us of Jesus, the Good Shepherd -
white for purity, red His blood, and stripes for His suffering.

The angels announced Jesus' birth.

Like the wreath is a circle,
God's love is never ending.

The star in the east guided the wise men.

Jesus is the Light of the World.

Clean Christmas Romances and a Linky

Christmas at the Castle
FREE on Amazon Kindle!

Christmas at the Castle (Ever After series Book 3) by [McClone, Melissa]

My Review:

Christmas at the Castle is a sweet modern-day romance set in a little country near the Alps called Alistonia. Kat is a veterinarian from the States and is best friends with the princess of Alistonia. They first met as young girls at summer camp. The princess is getting married over the Christmas holiday and Kat is to be one of her two bridesmaids. Sparks fly at the castle between possible suitors for Kat. The queen of Alistonia thinks that Kat is just a gold digger and not good enough for the royal family. This love story will put you in the mood to enjoy the holidays.

My Review:

The Christmas Bargain is a sweet romance that begins as a business transaction without the romance! Now two people are married, but only in name. Will they find love and make the marriage permanent? This Victorian romance will warm your heart this holiday.

A Christmas Homecoming (Bar V5 Ranch) by [McClone, Melissa]

My Review:

A Christmas Homecoming is a sweet modern-day romance. The billionaire bachelor Josiah is recovering from a long illness and sent to the Bar V5 Ranch to recuperate over the Christmas holiday.  He hates everything to do with Christmas. Ellie, the sister of a childhood friend, works at the ranch and makes it her mission to spread holiday cheer to all the guests. They hadn't seen each other for many years and all of a sudden there is chemistry between them. Josiah loves the big city life and Ellie is just a small-town girl. Can they resolve their differences and give love a chance? This feel-good romance will put you in the holiday mood!

3 Free Science-Fiction Romances and a Linky

The three science-fiction romances below are FREE on Amazon Kindle. They are the first books in their series. Some might leave you hanging, but at least you can decide if you like the series before spending any money. Click on the titles in blue to go to Amazon.

Book 1

The Gypsy Pearl Book 1: Caren by [London, Lia]

My Review:

Caren is the first book in the Gypsy Pearl series. It's a science-fiction fantasy story with a fourteen-year-old girl named Caz. She has always lived in space, but dreamed of exploring planets. When she's bullied and defends herself, the offense is the tipping point and she's sent to a boys and girls juvenile detention center on the planet, Caren.

She meets a strange creature in space that is protecting a gypsy pearl. The gypsies call the creature King and they all travel together to the same planet. King gives her grief and so do her roommates in juvie. A storm hits and chaos ensues. A girl dies, another is missing, and Caz is attacked. Follow Caz in this exciting adventure as she finds out who she can trust and learns about the mystery of the pearl. There's even a budding romance.

Book 1

The Liftsal Guardians by [Moody, Alexandra]

My Review:

The Liftsal Gaurdians is the first book in an exciting young adult science-fiction series. Sloane is a trained warrior and was the best in the academy until she had to leave with her dad and siblings. She meets her match when she goes looking for her lost brother on another planet and is taken by an alien who is also a skilled fighter. She learns about two new races and one of them is evil. It's a story about survival, family, courage, and sacrificial love.

Book 1
Last day to get it for FREE!

Her Robot Wolf (Shamans & Shifters Space Opera Book 1) by [Schwartz, Jenny]

My Review:

When I first saw the title for Her Robot Wolf, I didn't think that it would be any good. It was for free on Amazon, so I decided to at least give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it's really well written. It's an action-packed science-fiction fantasy romance. It's almost too much, almost overboard, but it isn't. There are some sensual moments, but no sex scenes, so it's more appropriate for older teenagers and new adults.

My son turned 21 last Friday! In these photos he's wearing new clothes that he bought with my mother-in-law. I've included one of Samantha who also recently had a birthday, but because she was in hospital I didn't get a photo of her. She's also wearing a new outfit and her hair is purple, but it's not permanent.

Fans of Anne McCaffrey’s Dragon Riders of Pern, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon and Rachel E. Carter’s First Year will love Dragon School.

Purchase on Amazon

My Review:

Dragon School: First Flight is a coming-of-age fantasy novella by Sarah K. L. Wilson. The main character is a handicapped sixteen-year-old girl named Amel. She has always loved dragons and dreamed of learning to fly. Her need for a crutch has put her at a severe disadvantage on the rocky mountain cliff where the dragon school is located. The other students don't even bother making friends with her, because they have already figured that she will probably die during the perilous training. The author brings this story to life with vivid descriptions, strong characters, and dangerous adventure.

6 Free Epic Fantasy Novels and a Linky

All of the books below are FREE on Amazon Kindle. They are the first books in their series. Yes, these books will leave you hanging, but at least you can decide if you like the series before spending any money. Click on the titles in blue to go to Amazon.

Five: The Power Rising: (Epic Fantasy Series, Action Adventure, Magic, Sword Sorcery, Mystery, Romance, Family Saga) : First Prequel to Chest of Souls (Prequel 1 to Chest of Souls) by [Erickson, Michelle]

My Review:

Five: The Power Rising is the first book in the epic fantasy prequel to Chest of Souls. Michelle Erickson is a great storyteller. All her characters are interesting and their lives exciting. This novel is packed with action, adventure, sword and sorcery. The protagonist, Ammon of Rozan-Steading, is a powerful force to be reckoned with. Wherever he goes, he brings change. He's such a likable character and the pace of the story keeps you so hooked that I could hardly put this book down. I read it within a couple of days and I plan to get more books in the series.

Chest of Souls: (Epic Fantasy Series, Magic, Action & Adventure, Sword & Sorcery, Mystery, Romance, Family Saga) Epic Fantasy Series Book 1 by [Erickson, Michelle]

My Review:

The Chest of Souls is an exciting epic fantasy by Michelle Erickson. The story begins with Brenna and Talon, the female and male protagonists, as children growing up. With the help of their parents and others, they face threats from evil forces and horrible monsters. There's a lot of mystery as to what the chest of souls is, but the destinies of the two children are explained. You can easily lose yourself in this magical realm as you follow the action and adventure of these two and the imperfect adults that make up their world. I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series.

The Dragonslayer's Sword

The Dragonslayer's Sword: The Dragonslayer Series: Book One of Four by [Nelson, Resa]

My Review:

The Dragonslayer's Sword is an epic fantasy adventure by Resa Nelson. It's an exciting sword and sorcery series, but it also carries a deeper message. It's a heart-wrenching story about love and sacrifice, overcoming cruel abuse, and finding one's identity against the odds. The protagonist is Astrid who experiences firsthand the wickedness of people, but she sees the good in others too. She never gives up and perseveres through great trials and inspires others to do likewise.

The first book is laced with a more hopeful undertone. Astrid is a hard-working female who learns a man's trade, namely blacksmithing. She thinks she is just a blacksmith, but finds out that there is so much more to her than she realized. Each book in the series has a good stopping point with a few loose ends and this one is bittersweet.

Dragonfly

Dragonfly: Book One of the Dragonfly Series by [Nelson, Resa]

My Review:

Dragonfly takes off from where the Dragonslayer series ends and follows the life of Astrid's daughter, Greeta. The girl never met her mother and doesn't realize how different she really is from the tribe where her father settled and raised her. Betrayed by two people that she loves, she leaves the village and soon finds herself in a dangerous situation. The world is even stranger than she thinks with people who twist the truth. Will she be able to warn her village before it's too late? This book has a cliffhanger ending.

The God Decrees

The God Decrees: Devan Chronicles Book 1 by [Cooper, Mark E.]

My Review:

The God Decrees is an entertaining sword and sorcery, romance fantasy about a nineteen-year-old girl named Julia who is snatched from the modern world and finds herself in a castle. She arrives when the castle is under attack. People are dying and she is their last hope, but she's just a normal girl, so that hope quickly fades. Find out how Julia discovers that she has an important role to play and the interesting people that she meets. I'm looking forward to reading more books in the series.

The Elvish Prophecy (The Paladin Chronicles Book 1) by [Port, Neil]

My Review:

The Elvish Prophecy is an entertaining epic fantasy with plenty of action, adventure, and a bit of romance. The characters are well developed and likable. There's great dialogue too. Fate or Destiny brings the three heroes together. They are a mercenary tribesman, a gypsy orphan girl, and an elf princess. Will they be able to stay alive long enough to unite their kingdoms against the enemy that is an even greater force than all of their's combined? This book has a small amount of sexuality in it and so it's more appropriate for older teens and new adults.
