An Ever-Changing Sunrise Part 1 and a Linky


Last Friday morning I captured the most beautiful sunrise. I shared the photos that I took with my phone on Instagram, but I also took photos with my Canon PowerShot that I'm sharing here on the blog. The best part of the sunrise lasted for about half-an-hour. This particular one was an ever-changing sunrise, so much so, that I'm going to share the pics in two parts. No filters were added. These are straight from the camera.

This Sock Sunday I'm featuring a book that I beta read and pre-ordered because it's so good. It releases September 22! The book is Ashen by indie author H.L. Burke. It's a unique coming-of-age fantasy story about a girl who is different from the people in her town. Her skin is the color of ash and her body is never warm enough. In fact, fire doesn't hurt her; it sooths her. Is she human and does she even want to know? There's a young man that she loves, but she avoids touching him because her touch steals body heat from others. Usually it's a curse, but the young man's sister suffers from fevers and her touch brings the girl releaf. The townspeople shun her and when there are earthquakes, they blame her. Does she have what it takes to prove them wrong or will she die by their hands or from the cold before she gets the chance?
