Jeremiah is back at university. These photos of the kids were taken on his last day with us. It was nice having him home for the holiday. He spent time with his little sister too. They played Monopoly Junior and Prince decided he wanted to be a part of it. The last photo was taken by Jeremiah and you can see Amanda's feet in the background.

I don't usually watch the news on TV, but I keep up with the news in my own way like via the internet. I try not to read all the horrible stories, but they are there and happening to people (or animals or the environment).

Even though I am selective when it comes to the news, it's good to know what's going on, so that I can pray or add my voice to bring change (like with the Avaaz petitions). Sometimes I post an article on Twitter or Facebook to raise awareness. My favorite stories, though, are the ones that make me happy and leave me feeling lighthearted. One day I had a revelation, that even with all the bad things going on in our world, God is never gloomy. 

Don't get me wrong, God cares and He never stopped caring. Easter is a reminder of this. However, God doesn't get depressed. He isn't gloomy.

What I want to share with you this week is about our thoughts and emotions. It's from a mini series of mine that is on my blog, Happy Moms, Happy Homes.

Amanda brought home some Easter pictures from school. The pattern on the egg above was designed by her. She asked me to find her some more on the internet to color, so I found this great site called Free Fun Easter. Check it out if you're looking for Easter coloring pages.

Free Easter Coloring Pages 

Amanda received her first term report for grade 1 on Wednesday. You can click on the image to view it larger and read what the teacher wrote. I also included the coding system, so that you can understand her grades. In South Africa, they use the term "marks" in place of "grades."

This morning we went for a walk with our dog, Benny. I let Amanda use my camera to take pictures. I helped her compose the third shot, but the first two photos she did without me.
