Easter and the Pink Moon with Linky

Sunday was Easter and we had Amanda's big sister, Jessica, at home with us for three days. We had a gorgeous full moon that night. It was also the Pink Moon or the Paschal Moon. I took photos from my balcony. No filters were added.

Easter Weekend and a Linky

My mother-in-law baked us this decadent chocolate cake for Easter! It really made the weekend extra special, especially since we didn't go anywhere. It was just the three of us at home (me, Hubby, and Amanda). We had really nice sunny days and even enjoyed a BBQ (braai) Sunday evening.

Easter and High Tea with a Linky

We've been on lockdown since March 26, so Easter was a very simple affair. Hubby is the only one to leave the house for necessary groceries, so he made sure we had Easter chocolates. He hid a few chocolate bunnies around the house for Amanda. He even decorated the table! Isn't he a real sweetie?

So, the other day he came home with dragon fruit that was reduced to clear. I never worked with dragon fruit before. All you have to do is slice it through and the skin peels away easily with your fingers, no knife skills required. It doesn't have much flavor, but it is a superfood, so you can always blitz it with other fruit to make a smoothie.

The girls and I have been enjoying cooking and baking during lockdown. The other day, Amanda decided she wanted to put on a high tea for all of us. She prepared dragon fruit and gooseberries, Brazilian kisses (condensed milk truffles), no bake oatmeal cookies, cheese sandwiches, and cucumber slices. Samantha picked flowers from the garden to decorate the table. Everything was scrumptious!

Happy Easter! 🐣 We have been in lockdown since March 26 and it has been extended until the end of April. Hubby bought the chocolates on his last grocery run and hid them until late last night when he decorated the table. We knew he was buying Easter chocolates, because he asked each of us what we wanted. He's a real sweetie. Wishing you a blessed and safe Sunday. Easter Weekend and a Linky

We had all four kids with us this Easter weekend. Everyone had Friday and Monday off, so we made the most of it. We went through to my in-laws at the beach and had a wonderful time. Sometimes it was cold enough to sit inside by the fireplace, but other times the sun was shining. If you've been enjoying my sunrise and sunset photos, then you'll be blown away by the stunning sunset we saw at my in-laws'! I'll be sharing those photos later and probably on 1camera1mom instead of here, but I'll definitely include a peek on this blog as I always do.

Amanda was given rhyming clues by her sister, Samantha, for her Easter egg hunt. One of the clues took her to the beach. Ziggy, my in-laws' miniature Schnauzer, enjoyed that! One of the delicious meals my mother-in-law made was lamb with basmati rice and figs.
