Make My Saturday Sweet - Blog Hop #33

I love Fridays because there are always several fun
link parties on the go. Today I'm linking with
Janine's Finish the Sentence Friday
and Nan over at BlogShe.

Photobucket

I also have a link party on the go just below.
And, if you missed it, I just posted a book

Finish the Sentence Friday
I thought I was so cool when I...

...did backward flips off the side of the pool. I thought I was fearless. I never pictured myself growing up and becoming like my mom. She was scared of heights and roller coasters. Now she’s cool and I’m the un-cool one. She knows how to ski with her feet together. I can only snow-plow. I’ve lost my sense of balance and I feel sick on rides that spin, like the teacup ride at Disney World. How did I get like this? I’m on a quest to get my cool back!

Now on to the blog hop...

I am so the same way and used to love all those types of rides. We went to a fair last year and my older daughter and my niece wanted to go on a ride that spun around in circles much like the teacups and seriously felt green afterwards. If you find a way to find that cool again, please let me know. Thank you for linking up with us again and I have also linked my blog up with yours, too!! :)

I always loved going on those rides - my daughter was the same way but my son HATED almost all rides. It worked out well when the kids were young because I would do the rides with Jenn and my husband, who really doesn't like rides, would do the wandering and watching with my son. Thanks for the linky I love checking out new places!

Interesting post! I thought I was cool once and now I have a fear of heights! I keep fighting it though. Thanks for hosting and have a good weekend. Christina.

It's amazing how our view of the world changes when we become parents! I regained some of my cool when I was boogie boarding in Australia last month. I surprised even myself! The cool is still in there somewhere! lol

Mom enjoyed your short-short story. She would like to do more blog hops, but can't seem to get it together to do so. It could be because of the time she spends with the eight of us, but we don't really think so. She's probably just lazy. MOL. Have a great weekend. Like your little story!! I used to be awesome on amusement park rides, but I now have the same problem as you do with the dizziness :P

I need to go on a quest to get my cool back, too! Funny. Oh and I'm terrified of heights now. I used to skydive. I think when you have a baby, something happens to your brain to make you a chicken. Brach!
I thought I was cool when I knew that Taylor Swift had toured or at least appeared on stage with Ed somebody or other. My girls couldn't believe I knew who either of them actually were to start with and of course fell over themselves when they googled to discover my information was in fact correct!

My fears have changed as I've become an adult too. It's interesting. Some have gotten worse, some have gotten better. The one that's improved the most is my fear of flying. I used to avoid flying at all costs. Now I just do it and get a little nervous at take-off and during turbulence, but otherwise I'm ok. :-)
