Birthday at the Beach and a Linky

We celebrated my father-in-law's 70th birthday last weekend at their beach house in Britannia Bay. The people in the photos are of my in-laws, his sister and mother, as well as us and our 4 kids. The Miniature Schnauzer belongs to my in-laws and his name is Ziggy. We all enjoyed a leisurely lunch that was brought to the house by caterers. The weather was perfect. It's springtime in South Africa.

Baby dragons, adventure, and trouble – oh my!

A new series by USA Today bestselling author, Sarah K. L. Wilson.

Can Seleska keep her baby dragon safe ... especially now that she knows his secret?

Perfect for dragon lovers everywhere, DRAGON TIDE: DRAGON STAFF is episode two of DRAGONTIDE. Expect a new episode every eighteen days. Always free in Kindle Unlimited.

Purchase on Amazon!

My Review:

Dragon Staff is the second episode of a brand new series by USA Today bestselling author Sarah K.L. Wilson. Princess Seleska finds herself in a lot of danger and discovers new allies. Her little water dragon, Nasataa, is always by her side and growing quickly. We learn a bit about Seleska's and Nasataa's destinies. It's not what you would expect. We get to see more of her love interest, the blacksmith apprentice named Heron, too. Just when the story gets intense, it ends! At least the author is releasing a new episode every eighteen days, so I won't have to wait long. The Dragon Tide series is written with a younger voice, so I recommend it for middle grade readers and young adults.

I received an ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Wild Flowers and a Linky

It's Spring in South Africa! I took these photos of the wild flowers this morning. There's such a wide variety. It's always neat to discover one that I haven't seen before and, on this particular walk, there were several!

We have the sweetest dogs! Both of them were adopted from shelters. Biscuit is our newest addition and she's the one in the photo above with Hubby. We're not sure what combination of breeds she is, but we suspect that she's part Border Collie, even though her coloring is something else. Koda is a our German Shepherd mix.
