Mother's Day Flowers and a Linky


Robbie and Amanda spoiled me on Mother's Day. Robbie bought the flowers and Amanda baked heart-shaped scones. I also got showered with loving messages from our adult children.

Laughing Doves and a Linky


Last week I shared photos of the speckled pigeons that visit our garden. Today it's laughing doves. These first photos are of the doves in a tree on the other side of our boundary wall.

Last Sunday was also Mother's Day. My husband got up early to make me breakfast. Our daughter, Amanda, joined him about an hour later. It's so nice to be spoiled by loved ones. I did miss our three adult children, but they all wished me a Happy Mother's Day even if we couldn't be together. The Instagram photo is of an Indian hawthorn shrub growing in my front garden.

Mother's Day and More with a Linky


Even though we're on lockdown in South Africa, I still have plenty of things to photograph from the safety of our home. The first two pics are of the full moon the other night. It was also a supermoon. Another day there was fog over the dam and it was Mother's Day on Sunday. I hope everyone is keeping safe!

Today's Sock Sunday feature is Fae Nightmare (Book 3) by Sarah K.L. Wilson. I love the covers to the Tangled Fae series! All of them are beautiful. This one, Fae Nightmare, blends a bit more whimsy in with the danger. It's fitting with Book 3 as we get to see Allie Hunter's nurturing heart. She's back in the human world, but things have changed in the ten years that she was gone. She needs to navigate the new dangers while figuring out a way to free the children and trap her evil sister, and she has to do all this without an ally. Allie is also desperately trying to get back to her trickster Fae husband, Scouvrel. Even though these two have been separated, we still get small glimpses of him in the Fae world. Mother's Day Flowers and Gifts with a Linky


On Mother's Day, I was spoiled by my husband and Amanda. They made a yummy breakfast beginning with a pretty fruit salad and then it was on to croissants with scrambled eggs and slices of gammon.  Both had gifts for me too. Amanda bought presents with her own money and also made a card, which you can see in the last photo. Our three big kids weren't with us, but we did visit with my in-laws.
