Welcome to my Picture Perfect

Potted Flowers at the Deaf Nursery,
Worcester, South Africa

Worcester, South Africa has schools, colleges and skills training for both the deaf and blind communities of South Africa. They also cater for other disabilities as well. I am a volunteer at the Blind Institute and have been there for the past four years, working for a few hours every week.

While there is a push to integrate more students there is also a resistance from the blind and deaf community because they feel their own schools teach specific skills that public schools just don't have the resources to provide to the few students they encounter. I worked in a Braille Press Company for a while and it was interesting to hear the discussion from blind and deaf blind adults about not integrating students.
Those kitties look so sweet and cuddly! Fab captures! :)
