Family Picnic

Our best news this weekend was that Jeremiah came home for his first term break. We celebrated by having a family picnic. The girls start their holiday tomorrow.

We are hoping to have a family picnic this Good Friday. Hubby will be home from sea (after almost a month) and Miss 16 is heading to Greece that night. It will be the first and last time the family are together for a little while.
Looks like everybody had a great time.

Thanks for visiting! I just saw your Pinball post. That's a great idea to have a museum where you get to play on the pinball machines. It would have been hard to only look at them and "Do Not Touch." Hahaha! Pinball truly is a lot of fun. Have a Happy Easter!

What a great idea to have a picnic - looks like the weather was beautiful. And I spotted some fast food containers in there - a great reminder that even the best memories can be kept simple. :)

Thanks, Erin! It was the easiest option. ;) I've prepared home-cooked food (chicken and hard-boiled eggs) for today's picnic. I don't really like fast food (we don't have many choices here - it's KFC or McDonalds and South Africa now has a couple of Burger Kings, but not in our town). I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.

Every time we go on a trip I think I'll fry chicken ahead of time like our ancestors used to - there were no quick restaurants to stop at during a road trip. Um. Yeah. I managed it exactly once. (Although for ski or beach trips I have managed to freeze stuff for the condo eating.) I'm so glad that with all the packing I don't have to cook *all* our meals ahead of a trip!

Do you eat your eggs on Easter just hardboiled, or are they stuffed or "deviled?" Are deviled eggs a southern US thing? Funny, but my family has always eaten "deviled" eggs on Easter!

We don't get bleached eggs in South Africa, so we can't dye them as they are brown and food coloring just gives brown eggs a muddy color. Deviled eggs are common in western countries, not just the States. I made them for Koreans before, and they loved them. I don't think they have them in Korea. ;)
