Jessica, Samantha and Jeremiah
Christmas 2014

My kids have begun the new school year for 2015. Jessica is now in Grade 11, Samantha in Grade 9 and Jeremiah heads off to university on the 6th of February. He'll be studying a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in English and Computer Science) at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa.

Amanda is now in Grade 1 and really enjoying it. These photos are of her in her new uniform the very first day of school.

I've been posting lots of photos of their summer break on my travel/photography blog 1camera1mom. We live in South Africa where the seasons are opposite to my friends and family in the States and other places in the northern hemisphere.

You started about a week earlier than us (New Zealand). Nice uniforms.

Thanks! Just to clarify, the big kids aren't wearing their uniforms in that photo (it was Christmas morning). They are past the age of being photographed on a new school year. ;) And, my son is only too happy not to have to shave or wear a uniform. :) I enjoyed your photos of the Buskers Festival. That must have been a fun time!

Thanks Tabitha! Your page struggled to load. Last week and this week I managed (after a couple of attempts) to see all of your lovely shots. I wonder if you wouldn't mind re-sizing them a bit smaller first before uploading them? The black and white Karate bathroom moves are really neat photos. :) Have a great day!

Look at that summery weather! I think I need to move to South Africa.

Best wishes to your children on heading back to school!

We also have winter weather, but the snow doesn't reach us at ground level - only on the mountain tops. Our winter is during your summer. I haven't seen that Canadian TV series (there's a lot of famous American ones I've missed too), but it's super cool that you got to have dinner with the cast and enjoy their company. Wishing you many more great blogging opportunities!

All the photos are great, but the ones of Amanda are special because she looks so proud of her uniform and back pack.LOL
What a cutie! Mine have a week to go and all three will be in high school. Thankfully just the two schools this year not three like last year which made things interesting.
