Protea Flowers and a Weekend Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #116!

My blog is best viewed in Google Chrome

Flowers are so fun to photograph. They don't wiggle or make faces. They don't close their eyes at the wrong moment. They let me take all the time I need and I can turn them this way and that way without hearing one complaint. These beauties are called Proteas and even though they did not grow in my garden, they are indigenous to South Africa.

In case someone took me too seriously, Amanda is a pleasure to photograph and she is usually the one who puts up with me and not the other way around. My teenagers don't always allow me to photograph them, but they do sometimes ask for my pics of them to share with their friends. When they appreciate my photos, I feel validated.

I invite you to share your creativity by linking your favorite post of the past week. Make sure you visit the person who linked up before you and leave a sweet comment!

I love seeing the "exotic" flowers that grow where you live. So novel to me! Love those - they remind me of something you would see in a dinosaur diorama. :) I wonder if they're one of the more primitive plant types.

Thanks, Erin! I have heard that these flowers resemble trees in their make-up. I'm not the biologist, so I can't do better than that. :D You'll probably know more about it than me. By the way, I had no idea about the Lucas / Disney movie. I was just as surprised as you guys must have been. I watched the trailer and read what you wrote about the butterflies and fairies. How interesting! The blond-haired dude reminds me of Prince Charming in Schrek. He also had a thing about his hair. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Hi Tina! Thanks for connecting with me at Pageant Wagon Publishing through Michelle's blog. What an interesting life you lead on the other side of the world--and what amazing natural life--that flower you photographed! Just beautiful!

Blessings on your little Amanda--I bet she'll love Mother Chicken's Eggs! Would love for you to be on my Book Launch Team. Let me know if you want to review! PM me on FB.

Joy to you!
