Swimming with Lego Friends and a #LinkyParty

Today's photos include Amanda's new Lego that she got on her 8th birthday. Amanda loves Lego and she even asked for a Lego themed birthday party last year when she turned 7. This year we didn't have a party, except for a class party. We took her to the theme park in Cape Town with a friend instead, but I'll share a few photos of that fun-filled day another time.

comes home with pink-purple hair,

as Nana paid a donation to

the cancer association.

Amanda opens presents on

very excited and surprised

for her new Lego Friends

from Mommy and Daddy.

Thanks, Karren! She's a model child. When I took the lucky packets to her class for her birthday, one little girl came up to me and said, "Amanda has a lot of friends because she's so kind." We are really blessed.

Thank you, Claire! I hope you're feeling better. I wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day on my Sunday comment, but then something happened and I forgot. Our Mother's Day hasn't happened yet. It's interesting that South Africa celebrates it on the day the Americans do.

Happy birthday Amanda! That pool looks super refreshing! I can't wait to see pics of the theme park in Cape Town! I want to visit Cape Town sometime when the weather is nice. Both times I've gone it's been very blustery.

Thanks, Alyssa! Sorry about the windy days you had. Cape Town rarely gets too hot in summer (November - January months), but the beaches are crowded, so you should visit beaches like Boulders Beach where you get to swim with the penguins, but you pay a fee. The theme park is only open during school holidays and summer weekends, so if you come this way again be sure to check first. It's called Ratanga Junction. I'm planning on doing my theme park post on 22 March. Take care!
