Our Botanical Garden with #Linky

Welcome to my Picture Perfect
Party Linky #216!

If you saw last week's post, then you'll remember that I took Amanda and some of her friends on a "treasure hunt" for snacks and juice boxes through our Botanical Garden. Today's photos are from a previous visit with another friend. Enjoy!

Kokerboom / Quiver Tree
The trees above are called Kokerboom in Afrikaans and Quiver Tree in English. The bushmen (San people) used the branches to make a quiver (koker) for their arrows.

individual classes during library time.
I read to 14 classes from grades 2 - 5.
Thanks to Michael Sullivan, the author,

The trees are very interesting. I just saw some Boab trees in a botanic garden but your trees are even more different.

Hey Rhonda! I don't know what happened with my comment system, but it only coughed up your comments in the spam folder today and I think they go back several weeks. I always check for comments, so it had to be some glitch in the system. Anyway, much appreciated!
