Eating Out in Vienna and a Linky

We ate out several times while visiting Vienna. Hubby took the photo of us eating at the restaurant, Reinthaler. That's his plate of food at the end, and that's my mom and stepdad. We almost always chose traditional Austrian dishes. Amanda was the only one who had space for dessert.

It was nice to share Vienna with my husband and our youngest daughter, Amanda. She was at the right age to be able to enjoy everything. Samantha also came to Vienna for the second week that we were there. It was special for the sisters to be together for a week. I shared a picture of her in a previous post, Visiting the Cemetery in Vienna.

Our Apartment in Vienna and a Linky

My mom and stepdad rented an apartment in Vienna for the month of July. The first photo is of the apartment building. We were on the top floor. I also included two photos of the street outside and another little sidestreet. The last two photos were taken by Amanda. She took a photo of her dad in our bedroom and me in the dining room. You can see her reflection in the mirror.

I tried sharing a short video on Instagram of the church bells outside our bedroom window but Instagram kept flipping the video on its head. If you want to see it, I shared it successfully on my Facebook profile.

Visiting the Cemetery in Vienna and a Linky

In English: In gratitude for our deceased friends and patrons...

We just got back from a small family reunion with relatives on the von Schwarzbek side of the family in Vienna, Austria. The event was to lay my Opa's ashes to rest in the family plot at the Hietzing Cemetery. If you're familiar with the famous painter, Gustav Klimt, he's also buried there, among other people of note. We have a permanent plot there with the first family members dating back to the 1800s. The words at the top of the gravestone are written in German and say, "The resting place of our good and unforgettable parents and their families." We had to get back for Amanda's third school term and missed the actual burial, but we did visit the cemetery before we left. The last two photos were taken by other family members.

I've been sharing a few photos on Instagram, and I'll be adding more. Below is a peek at St. Stephen's Cathedral. If you visit my account, you'll also see pics that I posted on another day taken inside the cathedral. It was amazing coming up the escalator from the underground subway to see this cathedral towering above us upon our arrival in Vienna. We were staying in an apartment only a couple of minutes away on foot.

Foggy Morning in June and a Linky

These photos were taken recently on a foggy morning in June. The sky was mostly blue with a hint of pastel colors. It's wintertime in South Africa but soon we'll be flying to Vienna to visit family where we'll enjoy warm days once again. Since I'll be away for two weeks in July, my weekly blog hop will stay open until we're back.

The latest update on funds raised to help Ukrainian refugees is now over $25,000! You can find a portion of my book The Novice by C.A. Morley (that’s me) in Fierce Hearts. The anthologies are not Christian, although some of the stories are "clean" and I know a few of the authors are professing Christians. All of the proceeds (100%) are going to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) for Ukrainian refugees.

Appreciate Every Sunrise and Sunset with Linky

I often share amazing sunrises and sunsets. This sunrise (or was it a sunset?) isn't amazing, but I grabbed my camera and took photos because I enjoyed it.
