Family and My Home with #Weekend #Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #88!

It's my grandmother's birthday today!
We got to celebrate it with her last year.
She lives in the States and we live in
South Africa.

The Inside of My Home

If our house sells, then we will be
moving to the States and closer to
relatives on my side. However, they
are spread across the States and the
globe, so I probably won't see them
often, but maybe more often than now.

Amanda asked me a few days ago what
a cousin is. I feel so sorry for her, or
maybe for myself, because I grew
up with cousins and know what she
is missing even if she doesn't.

Seriously, hoping now that your house sells soon and I do remember that you were here in the US for 4th of July last year. Here is to hoping you will be here to celebrate with all your family again next year at this time!! :)

Thanks, Janine! It's difficult celebrating the 4th of July and Thanksgiving over here. The kids are always in the middle of other things and these days pass like any other, although I do sometimes try to make something of it. This 4th of July the kids will be with my in-laws at their beach house, so it will be just Hubby and I. Holidays, even Christmas, are important to me. Christmas is not very Christmasy over here, even though it is celebrated. Amanda saw Christmas caroling on a cartoon and has been telling me that she wants to do that. I love those kinds of things. The atmosphere of it all. I hope you and your family enjoy a great 4th of July. Enjoy your one month break off FTSF. And yes, hopefully next year it will be us celebrating too!

I Christina, my kids grew up with lots of cousins and it was so fun, we use to get together every weekend for a outdoor picnic. It will surely be something she will learn to enjoy!!! Thank you for joining me on Oh My Heartsie Girl this weekend!! Enjoy your weekend!!

Hi Raychael! I just checked out your style and I really like your idea board at the top of your post and your Day 3, Outfit Under $100 too! :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Our kids began their winter holiday on Friday. They get three weeks off.

We spent a number of years on the opposite side of the country and only saw family once a year or so. It was hard, even more so once we started having kids. Your home is beautiful, best of luck!

Thanks so much, Jenn! I've given up a lot over these past 19 years plus 2 when I was in missions before getting married, but gained a lot too. Our beautiful home is testament to that. 21 years of not seeing family on a regular basis has been the hardest part. Traveling is expensive and my legs were numb the last flight back home to South Africa. I felt awful from the long trip. It takes about 23 hours to get to the States from here. God willing, the home will sell.

Hoping that your house sells quickly. It's a very nerve-wracking time trying to sell a house. We did that two years ago. But once it's over, it really is kinda fun to re-locate and *set up a new nest* again! I also grew up with my cousins, who really ended up being more like siblings. Family is a blessing. I'm hoping Amanda will get a chance to meet more of yours.

Thanks for your recent comment on my blog! It's my pleasure to join your linky party, and to follow your blog!

GOD BLESS!
