New Swimming Pool and Weekend #Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #187!

The new fiberglass pool.
I took this photo today.
We moved to our current home when Amanda was just a baby. Our house came with a two-bedroom flat and a large swimming pool. The flat we've been renting out to young couples over the years. We've always shared the pool with our renters, but the ones who use it the most are our kids and their friends. The pool needed attention, though, because it was leaking and required constant scrubbing, so we had it changed from a beach pool to a rock pool with a fiberglass surface. Today was the first time it was filled with water and this evening the fountains and lights were turned on. Everything is working well!

This blog is best viewed in Google Chrome.
Click on the photos to see them at their best!

The pool is being covered in fiberglass.

The guys are painting it gray.

While they add paint, one guy sprinkles on sugar.
The sugar is for the surfaces that we walk on.
The sugar will melt, but it will also
make the fiberglass less slippery.

Robbie is explaining the process to Amanda.

Our renters' little dog, Gus,
is watching the pool guys.

Gus is a Dachshund and Jack Russel Terrier mix.

Robbie is filling up the pool. Beside
him is our new shelter dog, Koda. He's a
German Shepherd mixed with Husky.

You guys don't get enough sunny days and your sunny days don't get as hot! ;) I usually don't swim anyway, as I prefer to cool off in the shower and leave the swimming to the kids. Take care! :)

I'll have to get a full picture soon. Today Hubby was working on creating a rock and plant feature along the one side. He's about half-way done. Thanks and have a lovely Saturday and Sunday!

Thanks for visiting, Helen! Your zucchini recipe looks nice. In South Africa they call them baby marrows. I often julienne them with carrots and fry them up in oil and butter. The carrots add a sweetness and contrasting color. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Thanks, Cathy! The Magnolia Story looks interesting! I love home shows and that Fixer Upper program would be one that I'd watch for sure, but it doesn't show here. The drug rehab is close to our hearts. I've done a few posts on the topic. Thanks for sharing your list and wishing you a blessed weekend!

When you live in South Africa, it's pretty important to have a way to cool off. :) The kids use it most. We'll be heading into summer soon, so I'm glad its ready for them. ;) I watched your video the second time I visited your blog. It looks really cold where you are! I guess it makes sense - North Wales. But the scenery and castles and other cool stuff (like the smallest house in G B) make up for the weather. Wishing you a great weekend!
