Serenity, Courage and Wisdom with #Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #190!

With the racial tension right now in Charlotte, USA, I would like us to consider how we treat people in general. Racism comes in many different forms. We need each other and so we should set aside our differences and embrace each other's strengths and talents. We can do so much more when we work together! Check out my photos with texts below and the related post, The Rainbow Nation. Interestingly, my latest book post has a similar theme running through it.

I love Micah 6:8! Are you familiar with the Steven Curtis Chapman song, "The Walk?" I've always loved it, because it has a bit of Micah 6:8 in it. Have a great weekend, Christina!

Thanks for sharing the info about the song! Also a lover of that verse! And it's the favorite verse of my son named "Micah."

How neat that your son is named Micah! I'm so glad I could share that song with you - I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for letting me know, Lisa! I will have to listen to it! I own his Christmas CD.

You bet and have a great week!
We live in a sad, sorry world, Tina. When demons run it, that's what you get :(

And I've ALways loved the "Serenity Prayer" :) It's perfection in wisdom.

Yes, you're right. We see a lot of evils here in South Africa and the latest is the rioting at the universities, including my son's university. By the way, I was concerned that my little "we should work together" pep talk would come across as trite, but it's sincere. Sometimes others put it better, like the Serenity Prayer and the Bible verse. Take care!

I learn the serenity pray when I was about 11 as my mother battled with problems. It gives a lot of solace.
Love you new banner this week.

Hard knocks, having a mom with problems. Sorry about that! I grew up with a brother who verbally abused me and my parents didn't know how to control him, so I was supposed to live with it by ignoring him. So many families have dysfunction. I try not to pretend that we are the perfect family either. My kids can easily point out or short-comings. Wishing you a blessed week!

So true it would be good if people were more accepting and worked together. Stay safe.

Thanks, Maria, for always encouraging me with your comments! Yes, we need to treat people the way we want to be treated back. It's sad that people allow skin color, accent, or religion to divide them. Wishing you a richly diverse week!

So true - what brings us together is so much more important than our differences.

Thanks so much for linking up over at Friday Frivolity this week too. :)

Well put, Jess! I just tweeted your Open Letter to Natwest Bank. I'm so sorry for what you went through! I hope they get the message. Stay safe and all the best with your finances. We found ways to save money and still provide Jessica with a memorable prom/grad/formal. May your money stretch! Take care and God bless.
