20th Birthday with Weekend Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #199!

Last Black Friday I decided on the spur of the moment to take a break and not post my weekend linky. I hope it was a peaceful weekend for you all, unless you joined the shopping frenzy. We stayed home for most of the day, but my husband briefly visited the mall looking for a deal for Amanda's Christmas present. She's been wanting a tablet after her last one broke about a year ago and a decent quality one does not come cheap. Hubby was successful and managed to get one designed for kids that was more than half off the original asking price. Thankfully, she doesn't read her blog, because right now she has no idea and we want to keep it that way! 😉

Our big news this week is that Jeremiah turned 20 yesterday! Today's photos were taken on his birthday. We had a South African barbecue (Braai) with traditional farmer's sausage (Boerewors) and chicken with a sticky marinade. The 4 kids played South African Monopoly and I apologize the picture is a little blurry. He spent the rest of the day and night with friends.

Thanks, Lisa! I liked your book list. Everything looked like fabulous reads. The ones that really caught my attention were, "A Walk in Paris" and, "A Walk in London." What a great idea to teach kids about cool cities in the world. They'll have to do one on Cape Town. ;)

It would really be cool to see "A Walk in Cape Town!" Thanks for joining us again at #FridayFrivolity this week!

That would be SO COOL to read a book like that for Cape Town! Even though I haven't been there, one of G's closest friends married a SA gal and they now have a house there, so we're hoping that one day we can go visit...
How interesting, Lisa! Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a cheery and blessed Christmas!

Yes, so true, Michele! Thanks for sharing about the devotional by Tozer. I always appreciate that we have a Christian culture in South Africa that encourages us to consider the meaning behind Christmas. My theme this season has been looking at the 700 year-old prophecies of Isaiah concerning the Messiah. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
